It is a knight who fought alongside John XXIIbut who is now long dead.(if they manage to kill him, on further examination of the body it's not super clear if that's him or not)
One has a flail and shield, the other has a crusader longsword and a shield. All those equipments have been stolen from dead nobles burried in Avignon
It seems that they do'nt feel any pain when struck by players.
